Going the BMG Music Service Way, Easier, Faster, Safer
BMG Music Service is an offspring of the old time music
clubs. But it is a more improved kind of membership than the
kinds we first encountered. To be sure, BMG Music Service makes
more appealing offerings, and makes them available, accessible, and
understandable.
You might recall getting looped into the labyrinth of the club that
sent you free music (or books) once a month, based on your initial
preferences profile. If you didn’t want or couldn’t afford the
item, you had a limited number of days in which to send it back and
therefore not be charged for the item you didn’t order in the first
place. Now how many of us got so busy with more important or
pressing matters that the book or music selection sat at the door, on
the bottom step, or in the closet until we received the bill, went
ballistic, found the offending package, and groaned that we had
“forgotten allll about thiiiiis”?
Not any more. BMG Music Service, which has actually been around
as long as or longer than those other clubs and likely once tried this
mailing method, has worked it so that you make your initial purchase,
for the price of one CD “buying” your choice of 12 CDs, and then become
a member. Once you are established as a BMG music member, the
club heads email you with suggested selections. You must still
opt out—say no—but now with a few clicks instead of a packing, driving,
snail mail posting procedure. Or you can say yes and get the
featured CD mailed to you.
And you also still have a decent range of musical genres and selections
from which to choose. Probably more than you ever had in the
early 40’s or 50’s. Now isn’t that more like it?
